Per VARIETY.COM, THE DARK KNIGHT has surpassed the billion dollar mark. Warner Bros. made the announcement Friday afternoon, saying that the combined domestic and international gross had totaled $1,001,082,160 to date -- about $533 million domestically and $567 million overseas. The studio also noted that it's the largest 2-D digitally re-mastered Imax release in the domestic market with $49.6 million and worldwide with $64.9 million. TDK is now #4 of all-time worldwide, and #2 domestic.
ANGELINA JOLIE AS CATWOMAN?
This rumour was actually started by Angelina Jolie herself! The actress, known more for adopting children and giving birth amid a media frenzy more than her acting of late, stated that she would be up for playing the feline villain in the next film. While it would be great to see the character in the next film, fans aren’t sure whether Jolie would be able to take on the role played so well by Michelle Pfeiffer and so terribly by Halle Berry (Stick to Marvel films Halle- they do suit you better!). Plus, many film fans still have a bad taste in their mouth from the godawful 2004 Catwoman movie.

News reported by Production Weekly (an industry publication), has indicated that it is expected that pre-production for batman 3 should start in Feb 09. It also lists Christopher Nolan as diretor but this is yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros. or indeed Christopher Nolan. However we would all be surprised if he isn’t gonna be involved. We sit and wait for the official announcement.
